She was stuck to me throughout music time, and then when it was time to join her class, she told me that she had to go potty. The tears were already starting to come down her cheeks. And when she was all done going potty, she washed her hands and then told me she had to go again (stall tactics). We went again, but this time, she would not get up from the potty. She was already crying and it was breaking my heart!
When we went to join her teacher, she was crying so much and kept repeating, "Mama, stay wis me! Don't leave me, Mama!" I held it together long enough to give her a hug and a kiss and scoot out the door. And then my tears started to flow! Again! How do I do this?!
I talked to the office for a few minutes and then, when I peaked in the window, K had calmed down and was observing the other kids. The administrator called me an hour later and told me that K was engaging in parallel play and was doing so much better.
When I picked her up from school at noon, her teacher said that she had a really good day! She even asked her teacher to hold Teh-ee Bear while she played!
When I asked her what she did at school, she told me, "Mama, I cry at my new school." She may have, but I think she had a little fun, too! Hopefully, next week will be even better!
Here she is outside after dinner...so happy to be home!
