Tonight I was getting K dressed for bedtime and she wanted to wear her new ladybug pajamas. For as long as I can remember, probably more than a year, K has referred to ladybugs as "lay-ee-gubs" and it is one of my very favorite K-isms. Only tonight was different. When I asked her what they were, she said "Ladybugs, Mama," like "Duh, why are you asking me this." I said, "No, I thought they were lay-ee-gubs." K said, "No, Mama. Ladybugs."
First school, now this! As the days go by, the evidence of her being a baby is quickly disappearing and she is becoming such a grownup little lady. While I am so proud, and so thankful that she can communicate what she needs and wants, I am also a little sad. It's going by way too fast!
