Santa's Lap, Part II

My plan was to take K to sit on Santa's lap this morning. I thought she might be a little excited because we were planning to ride the choo choo train that is right next door to Santa's house at the mall. But, when I tried to put her dress on, she wanted nothing to do with it. Or the next dress. Or the tights. Or the little knickers that I finally got her to wear. We were having a full-on, terrible-twos, meltdown while getting dressed this morning. I finally got her dressed and in the car.

When we got there, it was literally a repeat of last year! Once she saw Santa, she immediately latched onto my neck and wouldn't let go. Even when I sat down next to Santa with her in my arms, I could not make her happy. I gave Santa her Bunny snacks to try to lure her, and they even let her hold an Elmo. We managed to get a picture, and it's worth a thousand words...

For comparison, here is last year's shot:

Poor K! I felt so bad for her, and guilty for making her visit Santa. I hope one day, she will love him! She did get to ride the choo choo, and then we played on the playground and went for mac-n-cheese for lunch. I hope that I was able to make her day a little brighter!
