B is 2 Years Old!

Baby Brother is 2, and not so baby anymore!  He weighs 27 lbs. (36.83%) and is 36 in. tall (91.43%)!  He wears 24 mos. and 2T pants, and 2T and 3T shirts, and a size 8 shoe.  He was such a good boy at the doctor's office this morning!  It turned out that he had a double ear infection and I didn't even know it!  Poor baby!  And we also found out he has a hernia that he was born with that may require surgery.  It was a rough day at the pediatrician's office!  But he was a champ!  She said she wishes all of her patients were as good as him!

B is talking much more these days.  He repeats so much, especially when K is talking.  Some of my favorites are "Hode you!" (Hold me), "Yar" (car), "Der" (tractor),  and "Oh no!" which he says a lot!  Some of his words have multiple meanings, so we really have to pay attention.  For example, "Dupe-day" can mean toothpaste or suitcase.  "Daddy" could mean Daddy, jacket, or sockie (sock).  But I know he understands everything, and he is starting to memorize his favorite truck books!  He will say some of the last words in certain phrases along with me when I'm reading "Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site."

And he still calls Cookie Monster "Dupe-dee", which we love!  He has started learning his colors, but just like his sister, everything is blue.  He is learning from his Sesame Street placemate just like K, so everything is either the color "Elmo" (red) or "Dupe-dee" (blue).

B loves his scooter and his Strider bike, and loves playing outside in general.  He knows he has to wear a helmet, and will wear it most of the day if we're outside playing, even on the playground, which I don't mind after our trip to the E.R.!  But he doesn't particularly like to get dirty, which is funny.  He will say "Ew" or "Uh oh" if his hands get dirty and want them cleaned immediately.  And if he falls, he will say "Oh-day" just to let me know that he's ok before I can even ask.

B is such a flirt and a lover!  There are certain people, women especially, that he takes a liking to, and he will bat his eyelashes, smile, and give endless hugs!  Specifically, Keaton and WyWy's mom, Kerry...everytime he sees her at pickup or dropoff, or just at the park, he runs up and gives her a big squeeze, and loves for her to hold him.  It's so precious!  And he still loves skin-to-skin contact!  He pulls his shirt up and says, "Bel, bel!" and wants to put his belly on your belly while he gives you a big hug, monkey-style with his legs and arms wrapped around you and his head on your chest.  There is nothing better than his hugs!  And he gives out kisses freely, too!  Especially to babies!  He LOVES babies!

B is enjoying his school...Mommy-and-Me preschool, as well as Mommy-and-Me soccer, and Parent-Tot swim lessons.  He is on the verge of going independent in swimming and we can't wait!  It will be so nice when one of us does not have to get into the pool with him!  But he is doing great!  Sometimes, he loves soccer, and other times, he stops to pick the flowers, or lay down on the field.  Something tells me he's going to be more of an X-games, surfer boy, than a traditional athlete, but only time will tell.  He sure does love his scooter and bike!

Be eats just about everything we give him, except maybe applesauce (it ended up on our ceiling at one meal!).  He eats, meat, fish, broccoli, carrots, green beans, and lots of fruit.  He LOVES oatmeal and always asks for a second bowl!  And he loves "dan-dates" (pancakes), which he likes to help Mama make.

B is generally a laid-back, happy child.  He is the sweetest thing and he makes us so happy every day!  We love you, big 2-year old boy!
