The day after K and I left for Florida, Patrick's vacation time was cancelled and he could not leave work! Ah...the joys of working for a law firm! Luckily, he was able to postpone his vacation for the following week, so K and I got to spend a few extra days at Mimi and Grandpa Bill's house. Since their house is home to Baxter the dog ("Bah"), and Dusty the cat ("Kiki"), much fun was had by all!
It was HOT! HOT! HOT! And about 100% humidity every day! (Ok, 100% is a bit of an exaggeration, but it felt that way!) So, we were either in the water, or in the A/C!
The BFFs reunited
Grandpa Bill was well-prepared, as usual, and had beach toys galore for K to play at the beach
K loved actually getting into the ocean! The water is way too cold in San Diego for her to stick more than her toes in, but when she stepped into the Florida Gulf surf, she said, "Hot!" It was like bathwater and she loved every minute of it! She and Mimi dodged the waves.
After the beach, we were hosing the sand off of K and she wanted to get in the pool...Grandma Mimi let her and Bah came, too! K thought it was the best thing ever to be swimming without her suit, and to have Bah in the pool!
K played dress up with one of Mimi's sarongs and her jewelry...K loves accessories!
When the weekend came, my Aunt Pat and Uncle Steve, as well as my cousins, Quinn and Chase, came down from Destin to visit with us before we headed to Ft. Myers. K was instantly smitten with Quinn!
Patrick finally made it to Florida to meet us! We all headed to the beach for the day and K was very happy to be with Dada!
The next day, we were heading to Ft. Myers. K spent every minute she could with Quinn...
Auntie Lauren flew in to see everyone, but we only got to see her for a little bit before we had to drive out. Lauren was happy to spend a little bit of time with K, but K was bound and determined to be outside where the boys were getting ready to kayak.
We had such a great time at Mimi and Grandpa Bill's house!
