Dee Dee and Grandpa Shelby's visit!

We had a little holiday visit from Dee Dee and Grandpa Shelby to celebrate Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Christmas, all rolled into one! We had such a nice time, and even got Grandpa to play a little music with a friend's borrowed guitar (Thank you, Casey and Dalen!).

We took Dee Dee and Grandpa to Sea World and had all sorts of fun!  We pretty much had the whole park to ourselves, so K got to ride Elmo's flying fish with Dee Dee twice in a row!
While B took a ride on Grandpa's shoulders to see the sights!
We took K's car for a spin with its new battery (the car has been out of commission for a while!), so both kids were pumped that it was back in action.

Grandpa thought it was really cool, too!
Grandpa made his famous prime rib for our Christmas dinner, and it was delicious and perfect!
The kids loved it, too, and everything was so festive!
We went to the Grand for brunch before Dee Dee and Grandpa headed out.  They went to Dana Point for a few days of some R&R after being woken up in the wee hours by B!
K really wanted her American Girl Doll in the pictures, too...
And Grandpa gave us a little concert with some of my favorite songs...

I miss hearing my Dad play music.  I still remember being 3 or 4 years old and sitting in the basement of our Briarton house in my little lawn chair watching his band play (while I loved it, it may have contributed to my current lack of hearing!).  He still plays on occasion with a few of his friends at his restaurant, but his gigs rarely coincide with our visits to St. Louis.  And I miss it so much!  It brings me back to my childhood and puts a smile on my face!  Thanks, Dad, for humoring me!  I love you, and Donna, too!  Thank you so much for visiting us!
