And the novice...
We had a whole row to ourselves from PHX to ATL, which was divine! And we all made it to Atlanta in one piece, where Mimi met us at the gate.
Between Baxter (the dog) and Dusty (the kitty, who used to be Auntie Lauren's and is over 20 years old!), K was in heaven!!! She loved taking Baxter for walks, but had a rough time with the uneven sidewalks, the Mosquitos, and the lack of naps!
Before....
After...
Check out those knees! Like mother, like daughter. Poor K was a trooper!
After 2 days in Atlanta, we were off again on the plane to Ft. Myers to stay at DeeDee and Grandpa Shelby's beautiful Florida house for our family vacation. They were just finishing up a stay there, so they stayed a few extra days to see the kids and play golf with Patrick. Grandpa and B bonded and grandpa was super excited!
And we got some cute pics with DeeDee and Grandpa before they had to go to the airport...
We found K some golf clubs so that she could go and putz around with Dada in the golf cart. They went out each afternoon to hit the ball and K had so much fun! I think it is so special that Patrick and K shared that time doing something that they both love...
After DeeDee and Grandpa left, the rain came. Although it rained for 3 days, we still snuck in some swimming and golf, and just spent time hanging out all together. We went to the movies and were pretty much the only ones in the theatre. They even turned it down for us so that B wouldn't be scared. Monsters University was pretty cute and Kk had a ball...
K has a bit of a hard time with swimming this summer and regressed a little in her swim lessons. But, whatever it was, she overcame it this vacation and was swimming like a fish! By the end of the week, she was jumping in and swimming the length of the pool all by herself! This is just a little sneak preview of what she can do...
The last 2 days of vacation, the sun came out again and we enjoyed a little paradise...
B thought K was hilarious!
And everyone took much-needed naps!
We had an absolutely wonderful family vacation this year and we can't thank DeeDee and Grandpa Shelby enough for letting us come down and use their Florida house! We love it and can't wait to do it again next year!
