Getting there was the hardest part...it took 12 hours of traveling door-to-door, and we were exhausted. When we were landing in Ft. Myers, Patrick thanked K for being such a good girl on the flight (she was well entertained the first leg, and then slept the entire second leg!). K responded with, "It's because I love you, Daddy!" She really knows how to work it!
We weren't able to bring a lot of toys with us, so I took a trip to Target and stocked up the "toy closet" for K. When she was really good, or cleaned up, or ate all of her breakfast, she got to pick out one thing to do. It lasted almost the whole week and she was well-entertained between new toys and activities, and the pool and playground.
K was in the pool in no time! She loves the buckets and shovels that Grandpa Shelby and DeeDee keep for her. And the hot tub is the same temperature as the pool (unless you heat it up), so K thought it was the "l'il pool" just for her!
This swimsuit is a size 6X! My baby girl is growing up so fast!
Speaking of babies...here is the baby bump at 13 weeks.
We had a beach day, too. K loves that the water is warm(er) in Florida and she loves to play in the waves! She had the best time playing and watching all of the seagulls, too.
We even got yelled out by an old man who said she was harassing the seagulls by running down the beach...really?! She's just a little girl having fun!
After nap, she was back in the pool!
She was so happy the whole week!
Every day, toward the end of the day, K asks me where we are going tomorrow. She likes to know our schedule. On vacation, she would ask every day, "Mama, where we goin' tomorrow?" And every day I would tell her that it's vacation, and we can go anywhere she wants to go....she wanted to go to Target! And she was so excited to not have to go to school!
She learned how to float all by herself in the ring, and loved just floating around the pool.
She even got brave and floated around on her back with her eyes closed (don't worry...we were right there with her!)
DeeDee and Grandpa Shelby came down to spend our last two days with us. They brought K a present...a doll that swims all by herself! At first K was apprehensive, but then she could not get enough of her swimming baby!
She repeatedly took out her barettes, took off her flippers, and bathed her, and then put it all back on again.
Then, she tucked her in for a nap.
But, mostly, they just swam in the pool side-by-side.
DeeDee and Grandpa's house is right on the 17th green. While K slept, Dada played golf with DeeDee and Grandpa, so I got to take a few shots of them before K woke up.
When she woke up, K really wanted to go play on the golf course. It was really busy, so we had to wait our turn. While we were waiting, a few golf balls ended up in the pool...imagine that?!
Dada tried to help K putt...
But, mostly, she just wanted to run around, and throw the golf balls...
Grandpa tried, too...
but, wasn't any more successful...
So, Dada just joined in!
On our last day, DeeDee took us to lunch and K (and Winnie the Pooh) got to play on a pirate ship! She had a blast!
We had a fantastic family vacation and really loved our relaxing week in Florida!
