More Dallas

K and I stayed in Dallas for a week total, and Dada joined us for the weekend. But, before he did, we were able to catch up with some friends that I have not seen in a long, long time.

Just as a recap, when I was pregnant with K, three of my Kappa sorority sisters from ASU were also pregnant and all due within 3 weeks of each other. One of them, Heather, lives just outside Dallas and was able to meet up with K and I. It was wonderful to see her, and to meet Faith (age 3) and Gabe (who is one month older than K!). Her oldest daughter, Margaret is 9, and was in school. It was so much fun to catch up and watch the kiddos play, and nearly impossible to get a picture of all 3! But, they had a great time together! K was in awe of Faith and would just follow her around the play area...

Later that day, we were able to meet up with our family friends that really are part of our family! Dani and Tara, Auntie Lauren and I grew up together in St. Louis. Dani and Tara's mom, Myra, and our Mom (Grandma Mimi) were flight attendants together and are still best friends after more than 30 years. Dani and Tara moved to Dallas over 10 years ago and we haven't been able to see each other since that time. It was so wonderful to see them, and so great to get our kiddos together!

K took a particular liking to Spencer, who is 13. She clearly had a crush on him from the moment she met him. They were running around playing with the soccer ball and K would accidentally, on-purpose fall down and say "Uh-oh!" She would then wait for Spencer to come and pick her up. She is so boy crazy!

Here is K with Ava (age 5), Spencer, and Hunter (age 10). Notice how K's arm is firmly planted around Spencer...too cute!

I had not seen Spencer or Hunter since they were wee little babies, and I had never met Ava, who is a doll! All three kids are so sweet and wonderful, just like their Mom! And they are expecting a new little sister in just a few short months! It was so much fun to catch up with Dani and Tara while the kids played, and we can't wait to come back to Dallas to see them again soon!

On Friday, we headed to Auntie M and Billy's couple's shower in Dallas. Papa Murphy came in that day for the shower, and Dada and Uncle Bri were coming later that night to join us. K got all ready and her pretty dress and we were able to get a few shots of in her pretty party dress.

While the shower was lovely, I wasn't able to take any pictures! But, it was very nice and I think that Megan and Billy enjoyed themselves.

The next night, we went out for a family dinner at Nick & Sam's. Dada volunteered to sit next to K and to let Mama have a nice dinner across the table. To entertain K, Dada gave K possession of the camera, which can be dangerous. For some reason, she wants to take pictures backwards: she sticks the lens virtually into her eyeball and then says "Cheese!" If she were to press the button in that position, it could result in her blinding herself with the flash. Luckily, I think Dada was able to stop her a few times. In any event, I uploaded the pictures she took and they are hilarious...here is just a few.

This is exactly what I was talking about...the lens in her eye and a picture of the top of her head!

We had a great time in Dallas and can't wait to visit again soon! Thank you so much to CeeCee and Papa, and Auntie M and Billy for helping me the whole week! I couldn't have done it without you!
