Happy Thanksgiving in San Diego!

This year we hosted Thanksgiving in San Diego for Auntie Lauren, DeeDee, and Grandpa Shelby. Since there were only 6 of us, I bought a small turkey this year and only made the Thanksgiving favorites. It tasted pretty good, if I do say so myself, and I didn't have to slave away in the kitchen all day long! We even ate by 4:30, so that K could eat with us before she had to go to bed. Before we ate, I had to stop everyone to take a picture...Of course the only picture I got of K was with her eyes closed, but if you look closely, you can see that her plate says, "I am thankful for my friends"

Before we ate, we said grace, and we all made a little toast. The rest of the meal, K would klank her water cup against each of our's and say "Cheers!"

The next day, everyone had a dance party with K in the family room

Since I was taking pictures, K decided that she needed to take pictures, too. But, she holds the camera backwards. Thus, the reason why the lens is all smudged up on our real camera!

Auntie Lauren: "Here, honey. This is how you hold the camera!"

K: "No, no, no! This can't be right!"

K: "This is how you hold the camera! All the pictures should be of me!"

Since we were not to be together for Christmas this year, we decided to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my birthday all in one weekend while they were here. Our tree was not totally done yet, but at least we got it up and Auntie Lauren helped so much!

K headed straight for the presents...

But we tried to get a few pictures before she dove in.

K and Auntie Lauren

Here she goes!

"Help, please, DeeDee"

"Mo' help, Papa Shelby"

"What's next, Dada?"

Poor Grandpa Shelby slaved away putting her new train set together right before K knocked it all down and pulled it apart! We decided that maybe she wasn't quite ready for the whole thing yet, so we just put up a small track for her to run her "choo choo twains".

Then it was off to a tea party with Auntie Lauren, but first she had to put on her jewels.

Tea for two

Oh, thank you!

Yummy!

Time to do the dishes...

More tea, Auntie Lauren?

We had a wonderful time with DeeDee, Grandpa Shelby and Lauren, and we're so glad they were able to spend time with them for Thanksgiving this year!
