K is 17 Months Old!

The time keeps passing more quickly and K grows and learns so much each and every day. She has quite a few teeth coming in right now, including 2 molars. I catch her grinding her teeth every once in a while and I know it must hurt so badly for those pesky teeth to poke through! However, she is somehow sleeping better than she has in a long time, which is nice for us! She goes to bed at 6, and wakes up right around 6 in the morning, unless we're traveling or she's sick or teething. Most days, she takes a two-hour nap at about 11:30, which allows me to take a shower and get a few things done around the house.

She is talking more and more every day and repeats EVERYTHING...we have to be very careful these days! She's learning about 5 new words every single day, but here are some of her favorites right now...

Aaauuuuuwwwwooooo (I love you; our favorite!)
Walk (she would rather walk than be carried)
Up (when we go up, or down, the stairs)
Hot (she thinks all of her food is hot and will blow on it)
Num-in-a (yum yums or food)
Nack (snack)
Cereal
Mess
Babies (berries)
Cheese (of course!)
Buck (buckle, like on her stroller or carseat)
Butt (button, like belly button or garage door button)
Duck
Baaaa (what a sheep says)
Bayer (bear)
Thuck (stuck; everything is stuck all the time!)
Boo boo (could be an injury, or a poop, depending on the circumstances)
Ditty (kitty)
Yeh-yoh (yellow)
Bu-pul (purple)
Be-loo (blue)
Abby (Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street)
Zo-Zo (Zoe from Sesame Street)
Side (outside, or inside, depending on the circumstances)
Apple
Feet
Neck
Elbow
Hat
Alright

She loves to play outside, whether at the park, in the backyard, or just to walk around the block with Cozy Coupe. If we even mention outside or going Bye Bye, she says "Hat," "Shoes," and "Socks." She knows that she needs those to play outside.

She absolutely loves her babies! She changes their diapers, feeds them, rocks them, and pushes them around in her pram. She also has to have one with her at all times. She has to have a baby at naptime and bedtime and particularly likes her baby with a hat. Before she lays down to go to sleep, she takes all of her baby's clothes and hat off and throws them over the side of the bed. When she wakes up, and as soon as you walk in to get her, she says "hat," because she wants you to pick up baby's hat and clothes before she will get out of bed. Then, you have to dress baby before you can do anything else! It's hilarious!

She points (and says) eyes, nose, mouth, hands, and feet on herself, on us, and on her babies. She also knows where her hair, ears, lips, teeth, cheeks are located. When she gets a boo boo, she wants you to kiss it, or she will kiss your boo boo, too.

She is very good at playing pretend already, which I think is mind-blowing! She will have a tea party with you and make you some tea and pour it into your cup, or maybe cook something for you on her stove. She is always talking on one of her many phones and acts like the person on the other end of the line is saying something hilarious, and she will crack up! She leans the phone on her shoulder and goes hands-free, so she can carry her babies and do whatever else she needs to be doing. She also will pick up the phone and call her "DaDa" and start talking to him. The other day, he called on the house phone, so I handed her the phone and told her to say "Hi, DaDa." She did, and Patrick was elated!

For two weeks, K and I went every day to swim lessons. She liked the water, but sometimes she would sign and say "all done" shortly after class had started! She would kick her feet, scoop her arms, reach for toys, and jump off the side of the pool into my arms. She even went under water a few times, but wasn't exactly a big fan!

At the beginning of each class, she would sit on the side of the pool while I poured water on her legs, hands, and belly. Then she would jump into the water.

Concentrating really hard!
Swimming with Miss Haley K loved the stairs and retrieving sinking toys from the bottom!
We had technical difficulties with the Flip, so I only have a few blog-worthy videos, but you get sneak peak...
