K's Baptism Weekend

The whole family descended upon San Diego this past weekend for K's Baptism. Grandpa and Glamma Shelby, Uncle Brian, and MaMa (K's Great Grandmother!) from St. Louis, Grandma and Grandpa Murphy from Santa Barbara, Auntie Lauren from Arizona, Auntie Megan from Texas, and Gypsy Grandma and Grandpa Bowlby (for those of you that don't know, my Mom and Bill recently sold their house in Florida with all of the furniture in one week and are currently looking for a new place to live....maybe in Tampa...maybe in Atlanta...maybe a sailboat in San Diego!). The only one missing was Uncle Conor, who had to stay at school in Texas for a big test on Monday, but he was there in spirit. Much fun and many laughs were had by all!

On Saturday night, K met her Great Grandmother, MaMa for the very first time! It was an absolutely precious sight! MaMa made the most beautiful blankets especially for K, a pink one and a green one. K will cherish them forever!

We had a big dinner on Saturday at the house in celebration of K's baptism. Grandpa Shelby, a.k.a. Grillmaster, made yummy steaks on the grill, and Grandma and Grandpa Murphy treated everyone to all the fixings from Donovan's! Grandma and Grandpa Bowlby brought the most delicious, and beautiful marble cake with fudge!!!! It was to die for!

Grandma and Grandpa Bowlby gave K her Baptismal Gown and Bonnet, which were hand-made from my wedding dress...they turned out gorgeous and are so special! We were able to get some family pictures done at the house before we left for church.

K was baptized at Mary, Star of the Sea - the very same church where Mommy and Daddy were married! K was so good throughout the day, but her patience slowly disappeared toward the end of the ceremony.

Soooooooooooo happy to be out of her dress!

It was such a wonderful weekend and we are so blessed to have an amazing family! Thank you so much for traveling so far, for your generosity, and for all of your help with the festivities!
