K still loves the park, riding her bike and scooter, swinging, and especially, the monkey bars. She attends ballet class, soccer, and swim lessons. After swim, she loves to go to the "golf course" with Dada to hit balls at the driving range or play mini-golf and have a sno-cone. She also likes her American Girl dolls, her Build-A-Bear friends, and all kinds of arts and crafts. She loves to draw, color, paint, sculpt, glue, and decorate, and she always has new ideas to make the mundane beautiful!
We knew that starting Kindergarten in a French-immersion school would be difficult, but K has taken to it beautifully...even better than we could ever have imagined. She gets really excited when we get to school and loves her friends. She is reading, doing addition, subtraction, and some multiplication, and she is learning to write in cursive. Her Kindergarten class has a rest time every day after lunch, but about once a week, K falls asleep! And sometimes sleeps for an hour...Kindergarten is hard work! Our parent-teacher conference was 5 minutes long because her teacher, whom I love, said that she is doing great and she could not be happier with her performance. We are so proud of K! And her French is the icing on the cake!
At school, there are 10 girls in her class of 16, and she has many friends. She had all of the girls over to celebrate her birthday for a Princess Pajama Play date. They decorated cookies, played games and pretend, and watched a little Frozen. And I enjoyed spending time with the moms, too!
