I'm sure everyone has seen the wild fires all over the news...it's really hot right now with the Santa Ana winds blowing in and the fires are all over the county. They haven't come close to us, but the air is thick with ash and smog and it's generally miserable to be outside. We've stayed inside for the most part to stay cool and away from the smoke, but we had to get out of the house this morning. I tried to go for a run, but you can see the smoggy layer that is hovering over the coast. I thought it would be cooler and clearer by the beach, but no such luck! My lungs started to hurt after about 10 minutes, so I turned right around and went back to the car. This stretch of trail is usually covered with runners and strollers...not today...
Instead, we went further south to get away from the smog. I took K to buy some new ballet shoes (she's growing so fast that her current ones were hurting her toes, and they're only a few months old!), and we rode the train at the mall...B's first time!
K was so happy! Her face just lit up despite the heat.
B has a cold and has to wear a bib most of the day to protect himself from 42 outfit changes between his runny nose and drool! But I think he really liked the train!
