To Atlanta...

The kids and I went on an adventure to Atlanta to see Mimi and Grandpa Bill's new digs. Now that Grandpa Bill flies for Delta, Auntie Lauren and I have our passes back, so we get to fly standby again...travel freedom!!! I know a lot of people think I'm crazy for flying by myself with both kids in tow, let alone flying standby, but the kids were great! Mimi and Grandpa Bill's house is so nice and homey with a little pool in their courtyard. They live on a golf course with a lake and lots of playgrounds nearby. And of course, Baxter! K was so excited to see the dog that she was shrieking as she ran into the house...it scared B so much that he was afraid of Baxter for the rest of our trip until the very last day!

The kids got to go swimming (hard to believe that Atlanta was covered in ice the week before!), play at the playground, go on lots of walks with Baxter, go to the Botanical Garden, and the American Girl store where K's American Girl Doll had her hair done and went shopping for a new outfit.  And Mama even got a whole sister day with Auntie Lauren!  Thank you to Mimi and Aunt Pat for watching the kiddos!!!

A few days after we arrived, K was having a hard time hearing.  I got really scared when she couldn't even hear me call her name from across the kitchen, and then misunderstood everything that I said.  So I took her to the doctor there in Atlanta and she had a double ear infection!  We caught it just in time before the fever and ear pain set in, and I am so glad.  We were able to start antibiotics in plenty of time before we had to fly home and she improved rapidly.  On Sunday, I think her ears popped because she said, "Mama, I can hear!!!"

Thank you so much to Mimi and Grandpa Bill for our wonderful trip!  We had a great time!
