K is 3 1/2 years old!

And she is such a big girl! Sometimes I forget that she's still only 3 because  she acts like a little adult already.  She is such a wonderful big sister to Baby Brother and she just loves him to pieces!  She loves to pick out his clothes, get me a diaper, and hold the bottle when we give him one.  And she really loves to hold him! He is the first thing she asks about when she wakes up in the morning, and she wants him there with her for her bedtime routine.  So we all read books and sing songs together before the kids go to bed...it's one of my favorite times of day!

While K never really wanted to talk on the phone before, now she wants to call Dada or her grandparents, or aunts and uncles, and have full-on conversations.  If she knows that I am speaking with someone she knows, she wants to talk to them and tell them about her day.  And if, for some reason, they have to get off the phone or I have to get off the phone before she gets to talk to them, she is very upset!

Speaking of meltdowns...we are still in the throws of the threes, and while I have to say she is such a good girl, we do have occasional tantrums over little somethings.  She's definitely a planner and we have to stick to the routine to the letter, except when it involves missing a nap!  She's very interested in following the rules and if Dada or I are not doing something in accordance, she let's us know.  She tells us when we're driving too fast or too slow, to roll up our window, to put our seatbelts on, etc.  We must read books before nap, even though we have come to use the term, "nap," loosely, to include quiet time in her room where she plays until we come to get her.  We only get 1 or 2 actual naps per week.  Before bed, she eats dinner, takes a bath, watches "a l'il bit of TV," reads books, sings songs, and goes to bed.

K has always been great at independent play, and it has become even more apparent since Baby Brother's arrival.  Her new favorites are Legos, preferably her princess Legos, and paperdolls, also preferably princess.  She still loves to play tea party and store, sometimes grocery store, but mostly Target...her favorite place on earth!  Like mother, like daughter!  I think she asks me to go to Target at least 3 times a day.  And she's happy to go to multiple departments, including toys, baby, kids' clothing, shoes, or snacks, but her favorite is the "Repunzel station" (the princess aisle!).  With my having to nurse the baby so often, K and I play all sorts of games and do puzzles, which she loves, too.

K absolutely loves her friends and wants to see them every day!  She is such a little social butterfly and is always wanting to make plans with her friends.  She went to three weeks of summer camp at her new school and she LOVES it!  We are all looking forward to the fall when she will start again.  We are so proud of her for being such a big girl and such a great big sister!  And we can't believe how big she is already!  We love you, Sugarbun!!!!

Here she is with Keaton and WyWy in front of Swirls (frozen yogurt) playing on the splash pad...

And with Keaton on the train at the mall...

Home Depot has this great Kids' Workshop on Saturdays...who knew?!  They get an orange apron with their name on it, and a kit to make something cool.  We went last weekend with a few of our friends and it was so much fun!  K used the hammer and made this cute helicopter!

The finished product (Mama may have helped a little!)...

And it provided even more entertainment when she painted it pretty colors while I did the dishes, made dinner, and fed the baby!  Home Depot is going to be one of my new favorite places to go on the weekends!
