B is 16 Months Old!

B is growing up faster than we can blink our eyes and boy is he a handful!  He is starting to look more like a little boy and less like a baby, and he wants to be a big boy, too!  He doesn't want to wear a bib, or sit in a high chair, or eat with his fingers...he wants to use utensils like his sister.  He wants to play with her toys, wear headbands and jewelry like she does, drink out of her big-girl water bottles (instead of his sippy cup), and ride a scooter like she does.

He is also very busy climbing everything!  I think he likes to watch me worry when he's teetering on the arm of a chair, or standing on the seat of one of his moving vehicles.  And he loves to climb on top of the tables.  We can't even use the trick of pushing in the chairs any more because he knows how to move them out just right such that he can climb the chair, and then onto the table in 5 seconds flat! We even caught him on the dining room table holding on to the chandelier! Yikes!!!  And he's so quick!

B is still obsessed with hats, shoes, sunglasses, and any other accessory. He will put on anyone's shoes and walk around, and his favorite are flip-flops.  He will spend hours walking around the house in K's flip-flops.  And he always wants a hat on his head, whether it's K's, mine, or Patrick's.  Although, I think his favorite hats are Patrick's, and he wants Patrick to wear one at all times, too.

B also loves trucks!  His new favorite book is My Big Truck Book, which shows pictures of all types of trucks: construction trucks, busy town trucks, carriers, emergency trucks, farm trucks. He's not picky...just love trucks!

B still has 8 teeth, but he is definely working on some more.  He is a drool monster!  Sometimes he's a fantastic eater, and other times, he doesn't touch his food. He does like a variety of foods, including vegetables, and even fish.  He is not super into the toddler diet of carbs and cheese like someone else we know :)

B is finally, and a little more consistently, sleeping through the night, but he wakes up super early...sometimes as early as 4:45!  And he's ready for the day.  But he is also ready for bed at 5:30 or 6 p.m.  He usually takes one cat nap in the car or stroller in the morning, and then an afternoon nap of an hour to an hour and a half. He just doesn't like to sleep...doesn't want to miss anything.  Cee Cee always says, "Grass doesn't grow on a busy street."  That definitely applies to this boy!
