B is 17 Months Old!

He is big! I don't know exactly what he weighs or how tall he is now, but he is growing like a weed!  He is wearing 18 to 24 month clothes, and even some 2s.  He wears a size 6 1/2 shoe, which I think is pretty big for his size.  He is still eating everything that Mama and Dada eat...it's always better off of our plate.  He's not really into the toddler food yet (anything with cheese and bread like sister eats!), which works for us!  We hope he stays adventurous with his food.

B has 8 teeth and three more that have poked through.  The poor thing is drooling all the time, and constantly chewing on his hands and fingers.

B is consistently sleeping through the night (yay!), but he goes to bed around 6:30 and wakes up anywhere from 4:45 to 5:30 a.m. (ouch!).  He is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when it is still dark outside.  The crazy thing is, my body has gotten used to his schedule...I wake up at 5 a.m. every morning, and just lay there waiting for him to wake up.  I can't wait until the early morning phase has passed!  It also causes random naps; usually in the car on the way to take K to school.  He then refuses to take a nap at naptime, but wants to take another one when it's time to pick K up from school.  Ah, the life of a second child!  B really has to roll with K's schedule.

Despite my weekly attempts to wean him, B absolutely refuses to stop nursing.  Don't judge me.  Everything I read indicates that the kindest and most successful way to wean is through distraction, and it should not be traumatic for them. Well, B refuses to be distracted by anything.  And if even try to distract him, he throws a grade A tantrum, complete with foot stomping, head banging, and screaming at the top of his lungs.  He is teething, so I will keep trying every few days, and hopefully, he will grow tired of me and be distracted by something else.  But in the meantime, I do like the cuddle and quiet time with my Baby Boy.

B is walking, running, and scootering everywhere.  He LOVES his scooter!  And he is absolutely, positively obsessed with trucks...trash trucks, diggers, mixers, freight trucks, all of them.  It's so precious!  He and K get on their stools and wait for the trash trucks every Monday.  He gets so excited!

Here is a sample of one of his car naps...so cute!
