K is 19 Months Old!

K has gone through a major growth spurt and just keeps outgrowing her clothes! She's wearing Size 3 in some brands! She weighs 32.5 pounds and is 36.5 inches tall, which puts her in the 99.98% for height! The nurse at her pediatrician's office ran out of measuring tape and the doctor said she is taller than most 2 year olds. Everyone looks at me and wonders where she gets it :)

K's appetite goes in peaks and valleys. Sometimes, she eats more than I do, but sometimes she won't eat anything at all. She is into smoothies, so at least I know I can get her to eat (drink) her fruits and vegetables and some whole milk yogurt. She is asking for milk now, which is a huge improvement, but she rarely takes more than a few sips.

K has started putting words together into phrases, like "Hi, Dada!" or "Bye bye, Dada!" She is very much into names and regularly names all of the people she knows. It's really cute when she talks about her friends! She's still into Abby and Elmo and would have Sesame Street on the TV all day long (but not necessarily watch it), if we would let her. Her TV-watching is pretty limited, much to her dismay.

When K wakes up after her nap, she is super crabby!!! She wants to be held; she wants water; she wants "duce"; she wants Abby and Elmo! After a little snuggling and something to drink, she is back to her happy self. But, those first few minutes after naptime can be rough!

K is definitely getting a little more adventurous. Up until now, she has been extremely cautious, such as with climbing. Now, she is starting to climb at the playground, rather than just walk up the stairs to the slide. She climbs up on the couch and up onto chairs to sit down at the table. She still is very sensitive to low clearances and ducks her head much more than she might need to. Her doctor said that tall kids are generally much more cautious, so it all made sense!

We have not yet made progress with the potty training, but we're definitely getting closer. She has a little bit of interest in the potty, but does not want to sit down on it without her diaper on. She does, however, give us loud notices when her diaper needs to be changed, which can be pretty funny, depending on where we might be when she says "Poop!"

She got her own new set of golf clubs and loves to hit balls with Dada! They go out to the backyard with her little clubs and plastic golf balls and hit them around. We've even taken her to the driving range, which she likes, too.

K loves to play on the playground, and especially loves to swing! She can spend upwards of an hour just swinging and yelling "Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!" It's so cute!

The other day, I walked into the living room and found K attaching her toy high chair (for her "baby") to the coffee table, and then she put her baby in it and started feeding her! I didn't catch it with the camera, but it was pretty hilarious!

K has been feeding herself for about a year, but she is getting more and more proficient at using utensils and recently started drinking from a regular cup. I made her steel cut oats the other morning and she could not shovel it into her mouth fast enough! Most of it actually made it into her mouth and not down the front of her, which is quite a feat with things like oatmeal.
